Level B1 of Spanish according to the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR):


Grammar:

  • Uses of the indicative and subjunctive in the present tense

  • Contrast between indicative/subjunctive in expressions of opinion, evaluation, influence

  • Discourse connectors

  • Verbal periphrases (deber, poder, terminar de + infinitive)

  • Present perfect compound and past perfect

  • Time markers

  • Indirect speech in present and past


Vocabulary:

  • Personal identification, education, jobs

  • Daily activities, free time, leisure

  • Travel and vacation

  • Health and physical care

  • Shopping and commercial activities

  • Food and restaurants

  • Participating in conversations about everyday topics

In summary, the B1 level focuses on affirming practical command of the language in common situations, expressing opinions and dealing with everyday topics to function independently.


These are the 10 lessons that we are going to see during the course, however, the course does not only consist of these ten hours in class but during the week we ARE GOING TO WORK HARD with exercises, videos, messages .....


Day 1:

  • Review of verb tenses (present, preterit perfect, indefinite, imperative).

  • Vocabulary about personal identification and family.

  • Listening comprehension exercises.


Day 2:

  • Contrast between indicative and subjunctive.

  • Vocabulary about education and jobs.

  • Reading comprehension text and exercises.


Day 3:

  • Discourse connectors.

  • Vocabulary about daily activities and free time.

  • Dialogues expressing plans and preferences.


Day 4:

  • Verbal periphrases.

  • Vocabulary about trips and vacations.

  • Narrating past experiences.


Day 5:

  • Past perfect.

  • Vocabulary about health and physical care.

  • Role plays at a medical center.


Day 6:

  • Time markers.

  • Shopping vocabulary.

  • Written expression exercises.


Day 7:

  • Indirect speech.

  • Food vocabulary.

  • Restaurant simulations.


Day 8:

  • General review.

  • Transportation and directions vocabulary.

  • Speaking exercises.


Day 9:

  • Weather and environment vocabulary.

  • Debates about current affairs.

  • Review activities.


Day 10:

  • Final course assessment.

  • Cultural activities.

  • Farewell.
